How I became a published author

The first in a series of posts about getting your work in print

The idea for this substack was inspired by an old Facebook status update from 2011, which I saw in my ‘memories’ a couple of months ago, and went on to share on Instagram.

As I said in the post, I wasn’t sharing to show off, but simply to show that you can go from a place of ‘I wonder if I can do this’ to ‘I am doing this’. I am living proof!

So, if you’re coming with me on this journey to write book four for one of the ‘Big Five’ publishers (yes I have to pinch myself and no I haven’t written a single word yet!), then along the way I’m going to be sharing what I’ve learnt about how you can make the dream of getting published a reality.

And today I’m going to start by telling you the story of how I went from blogger to journalist to published author.
