nosebag #47
Good morning all and I hope you are enjoying the continued heat wave. If not, hang in there, because in my experience the glorious weather will break the exact moment the schools break up and five or six weeks of grey skies and intermittent rain will commence. In the meantime, here is this week’s nosebag, with a side order of a large bucket of water for you…
It can’t have escaped your attention that I have a book coming out and it’s been a VERY EXCITING WEEK!
Firstly, the book was featured in Tuesday’s Daily Mail, the first mention of the book in the wilds of the media - and there will be more to come.
If you want to read the article, I’ve archived the link for you here…
It was also very exciting to receive an ACTUAL REAL COPY of it in the post this week! I’ve been fighting my anxiety about ‘going live’ (more on that in a bit) and done a few this week, including this one…
Then on Thursday evening over fifty of you came to my online book launch on to hear more about the book (and enter a raffle to win a copy!). If you missed it, I actually live streamed it here on Substack, so, if you want to watch, here it is…

Thank you to everyone who tuned into my live video! Join me for my next live video in the app.
Obviously I was talking to the people on the zoom in my laptop, rather than to the camera in my phone, but if you can put up with the odd angle, I hope you enjoy. Afterwards I abandoned my glass of water and went for a glass of fizz instead in the beautiful summer evening of my garden. Cheers!
In other news this week, I was delighted to be a guest on the Birthing Instincts podcast, hosted by Dr Stuart Fischbein. Some of you may know that Dr Stu is a bit of a hero, swimming against the tide of the USA medical system, championing women’s right to choose and teaching natural delivery of twins and breech babies amidst a culture in which caesarean is the default for such situations. It was great to talk to him.
He shared a good clip on his instagram where I was talking about ‘lying back and thinking of England’ - if you haven’t heard me make this analogy before between olden days sex and modern day birth then do have a listen!
