Telling on bullies, JKRWF, being interviewed, lesbian erasure, the Tristrams, Splat the Rat
nosebag #43
I’ve been literally chasing my tail this week, for some reason, more than usual. Perhaps catching up after three days on a different planet (London) the week before; perhaps thrown off kilter by the slightly terrifying prospect of an interview with The Times, originally scheduled to take place on Tuesday this week, and then, on Tuesday itself, moved to Thursday. Yesterday I did about another twenty five things I had on my list and then sat down, finally, to have a cup of tea and read a few pages of my book (currently Caledonian Road, by Andrew O’Hagan). “Before I do”, I thought, “I’ll just quickly check my phone.” And so I did, and there it was again, another person telling people not to buy my book after all, because I’m ‘transphobic’. This time it was a midwife with 11 thousand followers.
