The Word is...DEADLINE!

I'm pausing paid subs til the start of September.

Hi all.

Friday is The Word is Woman day for me, but, after much consideration, I’m going to take a break while I get Ultra Processed Women over the finish line.

My deadline is the end of July, and I have a fair bit to do by then. It’s not impossible, but it will be 24-7 for me until it’s all done. I don’t think I can split my brain any more between female erasure and the impact of chicken nuggets on the menopause 😆

Because I’m not the kind of person who likes to take something for nothing, I’ll be pausing paid subscriptions between now and the start of September, when I will get everything back up and running on The Word is Woman. It’s amazing that in less than a year we have reached 42 editions of The Word is Woman and you can of course access the whole archive if you are needing a fix of rage interspersed with humorous gifs.

This doesn’t mean I am going away. Quite the opposite in fact, I’m going to be absolutely melded to my laptop for the next few weeks, so you’ll still be hearing from me if I have something fun to share with you like news of my book cover, or something that absolutely needs to be written about, for example if this email gets a response…

In the meantime, what does a pause to subscriptions mean?

Well, if your sub goes out monthly it means that will stop happening until I press go again.

And if you have been kind enough to pay for an annual sub it effectively means your sub will be extended by a couple of months.

It also means that nobody new can take out a paid sub until I press go again either.

Here I am in my happy place, about to go to a luxury publisher’s party at the V&A museum. My other happy place is when I am sat writing, but I’m afraid I don’t look quite as glam in my grubby PJs surrounded by the dirty dishes 😆
