Important questions re: this Thursday's zoom meet-up
Please take a mo to read and respond...
Hi everyone
It’s that time of the month again when we meet up - always the last Thursday of the month from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
This week, it’s the final meet-up of 2025 (because no, in spite of my extreme dedication to this substack, I’m not doing one on the last Thursday in December, which is in fact New Year’s Eve, or the penultimate one, which is Christmas Eve!)
And as something different for our last meeting, I had suggested we organise a ‘Salon’ - by which I mean a celebration of creativity and ideas, and a forum for different people to share anything from music and poetry, to new thinking, to humour.
BUT!
I haven’t had very many offers from you lot of things you would like to share!!
So, I can only assume that either a) you’ve forgotten and are just about to get around to it, or b) you’re just not that fussed about a Salon or c) you love the idea of a Salon but would rather watch than be put in the spotlight.
However, it does leave us with a dilemma.
So, please let me know your thoughts in the comments. OPTIONS:
We could go ahead with a Salon - if more of you volunteer to share.
OR we could have a final meet-up of the writing group and just write together as usual.
OR we could just have a Christmas drink for an hour.
OR we could discuss this current ‘birth crisis’, something I’m hoping to write about later this week. (we probably need to combine that with the drink!)
Please tell me what you would like and I will make it happen.
Love for now, M x

Also have a birthday girl in my house but I hope to make at least some of the evening.
Birth chat with women always holds my interest. I'll have a festive drink at the ready whatever the format 🍸
Thanks Milli
It probably won't help to say 'I don't mind...' but I'm up for majority vote - As a retired midwife I always welcome birth talk - I am also happy to offer a reading from my WIP... which would probably be a birth scene... I don't drink alcohol, but make my own kombucha;) And I'm just as happy to spend time writing... Let's just say I'm easily pleased!
