Brilliant & worthwhile persistence, Milli.

This is chilling, in its way.

The baseless accusation (here, transphobia, based on ‘views’ expressed elsewhere); the concern this might have adverse effects (bad PR, what might people think?) ; the inconsistency (on both the approved and rejected list) reflecting incompetence & messy internal comms; the attempt at cover up; the final defiance (we can do wtf we want).

Any repressive regime might recognise these reactions.

Missing: a kangaroo court, in which Milli is forced to wear a canvas sack, and ordered to apologise & chant TWAW in the town square.

I exaggerate…but not much.

Who loses when good people decide they can’t work in this system any more, or are excluded from it?

Mothers.

Transphobia is used to attack people like Communist used to be.

You deserve their apology it was an awful way to treat you bearing in mind your books have helped so many women . That being thrown in to doubt was cruel and for why ? It’s so misguided .

Thanks - yes - they would rather deprive women of reading a book that might actually help them than admit that men can't breastfeed or that distressed children shouldn't be medicalised irreversibly - this from an organisation that is supposedly anti-Nestle and all about the 'natural' way???!!

You wrote: "Do they really want to keep throwing good women under the bus? Do they genuinely believe that me, their lost trustees, their 95 year old founder Marian Tompson, and anyone else who has stood up and said that male people should not be helped to lactate and feed voiceless babies from their male nipples, are all in the wrong and not worth the time of day, and that they are definitely 100% in the right? Really??"

The answer to your question Milli, is yes, those LLLI Board members in the trans cult (who were the puppet masters in the recent LLLGB debacle), do believe that they are 100% correct in their thinking and anyone who disagrees with them are indeed transphobic and bigoted and if they choose to leave, good riddance to them.

They believe the purpose of LLL is as a social justice organization, here to promote the queering of society and the inclusion of "everyone" who wants to "human milk feed" babies, regardless of any consideration of the human rights of babies. They are also deaf to the protests of Leaders living in countries where there are no LGBTQ+ people because this is illegal.

There is no safeguarding in place for women, mothers, babies or Leaders.

The apt aphorism "hell will freeze over" before you get an apology from these cult members.

Completely agree. It’s like a cult and no apologies will be forthcoming.

Millie you are an absolute heroine, there are not many people that stand up for their beliefs so strongly, not only beliefs, but our RIGHTS to an opinion. Our RIGHT to freedom of speech, free debate, right to question. These values can be applied to so many other different situations in recent and not so recent history.

THANK YOU for being a rare voice of reason and sanity, in an increasingly insane world x

It's good to have the record, Milli. Quite incredible, but GO that woman/women fighting so clearly and tirelessly in your corner. I presume you are a member of SEEN in Publishing? I think this case might be of interest to them.

I know this is absolutely not the point, but I’m desperate to know why those other books were rejected. Lucy Ruddle is very TWAW so I’d have thought she would be right up there if the decision on whether to approve or reject a book is based on your views related to gender!
